Anyone know about Tea Kettle Campground in Columbia Falls?

Post by Apikuni »

Hey all, I'm making the move back to Montana because of a new job. It came on sudden, so I'm looking for a place to camp for a couple weeks that's close to the airport. La Salle RV Park is 125 a week with showers. Tea Kettle is primitive, but I can't find any info on it. Such as price. Anybody have any idea?

Here's this:

If it's where I think it is, I don't think I would want to camp there were I you.
Teakettle campground is adjacent to the public boat ramp next to the US 2 bridge over the Flathead River.

A lot of "transients" cruise that area. Teens and others hang around.
I don't see how you or your "stuff" would be secure camping there.
But I could be wrong. 8)

Tea Kettle is not a good place, lots of bad things going on there, more of a transit camp these days, especially this time of year.

I would not recommend it for a long time stay.

Hell if you have a tent, I can put you up here until you get settled.

You could camp here at Whitefish Lake State park.

It's actually not too bad. I camped there a long time ago testing my tarp tent Squall I
Bring your mosquito stuff.
The airport is only 20-25 minutes

PS
It'd probably be more fun to camp at DaveParker's house except for
1) being rousted in the night by mating bobcats might be disconcerting, and
2) Dave doesn't live exactly very close to the airport 8)
