Was fortunate to finally get to this spectacular park. Having spent a lot of time in Yellowstone and one trip to Alaska, we were hoping to see some bears in Glacier as well. And the Many Glacier area did not disappoint! Thanks to great information on this site, we knew where to go. Though we could only stay less than than two full days, we saw at least 10 different grizzlies and four black bears. We landed in Kalispel in the mid-afternoon and headed straight to Many Glacier area with a relatively brief hike to Hidden lake at Logan's pass-saw lots of Mountain goats very close. We arrived early evening to the Many Glacier area and immediately began seeing bears. Just driving up and down short distance on the main road, we saw the bears searching for berries-best luck was early morning and between 6-9pm-so eat dinner early or late. Below are a few shots of some of wildlife-just a great visit, just left us wanting to go back again soon and hoping to do more hikes.
Grizzly quite close to road just before you turn left into Many Glacier.
Saw this Black bear at same time and right near the grizzly-very strange.
Makes you appreciate their ferocity.
This guy seemed a little annoyed as someone (without a clue) approached too close.
We saw this "almost all" black bear the next day about a mile east of Many Glacier area.
The next evening just above road.
Taking a grizzly bath!
On way out of east entrance had nice view of Mother Grizzly and her cub in a moonsoonal rainstorm!
Saw this bull moose swim across Red Rock lake
AT LOGAN'S PASS
Notice the mosquitos!!!!!! Even critters get annoyed.
Can't wait to get back and thanks for the geat information
