PERMIT # 306
ENTRY GSE GOAT HAUNT RANGER STA
DATE CODE CAMPSITE
8/29 FIF 32 FIFTY MOUNTAIN
8/30 GRN 34 GRANITE PARK
NAME : MIKE
#CAMPERS : 2 #SITES: 1

My plan was to enter at the "loop trail" hike past FLA and stay at FIF
The entry at Goat Haunt has peaked my interest has anyone done this int
and which is the best hike for scenery. Also logistics look tough to get shuttle from Many
Glacier in the AM to Waterton and make it to FIF in the same day.

Any help will be appreciated.

I would think the logistics of getting from ManyGlacier to Waterton, down to GoatHaunt and then hike to FIF would be difficult.

It seems a bit odd that they assigned your entrance as GoatHaunt, I don't see any reason that you still couldn't do the hike as you originally planned? Makes a nice little loop trip that way.
I would think that their main concern is how many people in each campground each night, and not so much how you got there. As long as you are at the designated campsites on the designated nights you should be ok. You could check at the StMary or Apgar Offices the day before you start your trip, or call them just to be sure.

I have done both routes and would agree with above, doesn't matter how you get there, it is where you stay at night that is the issue.

Same route I requested, only I added Kintla at the very end... 'cause i'm old, feeble, and just plain lazy.
I gave them a window from Aug15 to Sept9.

OhioGuy: If you have the time before your trip starts, I'd definitely suggest spending the night in Waterton because it will allow you to take the first boat and get an early start. The hike from the Waterton River valley up to Fifty mountain is fairly tough, or at least it would be if you were trying to complete it quickly because you got a late start. I think you can use the East Side Shuttle to get up to Waterton, but you can't get there until well into the afternoon.

Have a great trip. Once you get to the top of the climb from the Waterton Valley, the scene is pretty stunning IMO.
