Ohhhhh My Lord of Mercy!!
I can see and hear the partying now LOL.
That place is gonna be wild. I'll have to remember to go out there 4th of July. They will be partying hard this year
Seriously though, I'm glad to see the improvements. We'll have to see how well they maintained the "quaintness" of the place...which has always been its charm for me.
I love Polebridge. If I didn't have to work, I'd love living out there.

As I posted elsewhere, Todd(R) bought me a NY Strip here at the Northern Lights this afternoon. I had a salad with their homemade vinigarette dressing. I like my steak rare and it was cooked perfectly...and was very good. Minimal fat and tastey. Baked potatoe was good. I like it when I can eat the skin and this potatoe completely "disappeared". Carrots done, but not overdone.
I was very pleasantly surprised.
The trout special they had over the weekend got good reviews too from other patrons in there today.
Too bad they're closing at the end of the month :(

That is a bummer. We usually ski in to Bowman Lake or Kintla Lake at least once during the winter and it was always a treat to be able to have dinner and beverages at the Northern Lights après ski. But that was back when the saloon was a local gathering place. Now it seems open for tourists. While locals go there it is not the social gathering place it once was.

Hi Pete! Nice pic of you and Todd!
Economic times are poorish. Maybe if the economy gets a solid floor (ever) the Northern Lights will reinvent itself yet again.

Hey Marjorie:

Sorry I missed saying bye at Granite park Chalet that day. :(
And then again this past Sunday!!
Yeah, the picture turned out pretty good. The cute gal working took it. She wanted to make sure the Northern Lights
sign showed up between us

There'll be other times! I went swimming in Bowman L while Todd enjoyed the pleasures of Northern Lights and yet more astounding coincidences in seeing both you and Ryan + Vicky come out that day.
The lake is pretty good for swimming. I started near the rangers' dock and swam around the little peninsula at the other end of the beach. Couple of pointy snaggers to watch out for. And the grizz that likes a bit of aquatic exercise around 6 p.m.
This was certainly my best visit to Glacier. And thanks again for pack guarding whilst we broached the fearsome summit of Haystack Butte!
