Wonder how he figures that?
Well, If I'm at the BC office by 5:30 AM I'm sure I'd get it. I'm thinking it would probably be quicker just to get that site on a new permit instead of reworking the existing permit.
Is there enough at UPK to warrant 2 days, or would you hike out the second day?
If I fail to get BOU I'm sure we'll hike out. If I dangle dinner at the Northern Lights or Home Ranch Bottoms in front of her nose, Geisha Hiker will leave me in her dust.
So many mountains, so little time.

Sounds like the ranger who was working at the St. Mary visitor center when we stopped to get our permit. Her reply to just about every one of our questions was "I don't know"... LOL!

sure hope I get the permit I want this year for my trip to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. Oh, wait...I don't need to get a permit!
No reservation, nightly or entrance fees

Camp where you want, not where "the man" tells you to

No smelly backcountry pit toilets

Of course, that means there is always the danger of encountering an improperly dug personal latrine....
Oooh, icky
