Multiple victim bear attack near Yellowstone

Even though Glacier is the focal point, the Flathead and the surrounding area presents boundless activities, talk about it here.

Yep. Awful news. here's the campground where it happened:

Soda Butte Campground

It's a beautiful spot, but always felt a bit "off" to me.

That's a horrible story. From what I've read online, everyone had their food properly stored, so it sounded like this was just a freak event and the poor guy who was killed couldn't have done anything to avoid it. My mom just e-mailed me the story about Jack Hannah's bear attack and said she's freaked out that I will get eaten by a bear while I'm in Glacier in a few weeks. This definitely will not ease her overprotective nerves.

My overprotective mom called me too! This is really tragic and it's one of the campgrounds I was directing people to last week at the St. Mary KOA laundry...lots of people headed to Yellowstone and the word was "you can't get a site within 50 miles of the park" so I was telling them about the 2 forest svc campgrounds past Cooke City that I've been told never fill. This is one of them. What an awful thing to happen...I hope the other two people recover and that they catch the bear. I wish they would be able to learn "why" but that probably won't happen.
