Before the current owners, there were a few dedicated snowshoe trails. Most folks though snowshoed on the groomed cross country ski trails. There are numerous nearby Forest Service and Park Service trails where one can snowshoe. For those interested in this I suggest contacting the appropriate agency and be avalanche aware.FuzzySideDown wrote: ↑Mon Jan 01, 2024 8:09 am Do you know if they also have any specific snowshoe trails by chance as well? I suppose perhaps anything that wasn’t groomed maybe. I’ve always thought Essex could be a neat winter getaway. For cross country skiing/ snow shoeing/ reading a good book by a wood burning stove after having taken the train there. Some day we might do that perhaps.
That’s very cool somebody is still grooming the ski trails when possible.
