How tough is it to get a site in Avalanche creek in mid Sept.?

In years past, it wouldn't be too tough.
This year it could be much harder.
Every time I've driven by Avalanche this year, usually very early AM, the sign has said "Full".
You can probably get in if you get there early your first day and be patient.
My guess is that getting in there the last couple years has been similar to getting into the Many Glacier CG.
Maybe someone here has camped there this year and can help you.

As Pete said it's probably getting more difficult to get a site at Avalanche. My experience, though, is that when things get tight the the "Full" sign is left up most of the time.
