This afternoon I had the pics posted above printed 11x14" to see how well they would hold up at that size.

I was very pleased with all of them included the one below which I left out of my previous post.
Very good detail in all.
The guy at Wallgreen's liked the one below the best.
I do too.

I believe they'll look really good as mounted 8x10's.
I might put them on display at work to see if there's any interest

Mr Lincoln was moving around in the trees right at the very top of Lincoln Pass when I got up there. I like this shot of him with the back drop of the green and grey of the trees.
Uncropped full frame like those previous.

Pete,

Great goat pictures. And all those clouds are fascinating.

The climb on Glacier View looks a lot different than last November in the snow.

I am sure the bird in your video is a Northern Flicker. According to the bird books there are three varieties of the Northern Flicker - this would be the golden shafted variety with the yellow in the wings and the red spot at the back of the neck.

Thanks Bill!

That Northern Flicker startled me when he flew by :)

Yeah, it was relatively easy going up since there wasn't any snow. The very top has a little bit.
There will be a full moon next Wednesday. The moon will rise at ~7:00Pm at a little north of East(77deg).
Should look good coming up over the Livingstons. Might go out over the weekend and see how it looks.
It rises around 5PM tomorrow evening.

Here are a few pics from the East Side yesterday.
Hiked up Baring Creek a little way. Didn't see anyone.

Love that area! With it being so nice out this past weekend, I’m surprised you didn’t see anyone.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Tina:

You're welcome and I agree. I love the Baring Creek/Siyeh Trail area of the park.
Here are a few more pictures that I liked.

Going-To-The-Sun....times two 8)

Lots of dead trees from the Reynolds fire around on the first mile and a half.

Matahpi becomes the focal point on this bottom section of the trail as you go up.

Thanks Thorn :)

Here's some "lame" video from the hike up Baring creek.
Runs 14 minutes.

Those ham sandwiches are what keep me going year after year.
I've stopped eating bologna sandwiches; too much fat in bologna, even the all beef stuff....ya know? 8)

And so a thin sliced "Off the Bone" Virginia ham sandwich it was!

YeeeeeeeHawwwwwwwwww!

Image

Another snap of the ledges above the "ham sandwich" spot above.
Image

The high point of the Siyeh Pass trail. As I said in the video...
Looks kinda sketchy to me, but doable by those with steep snow crossing experience.

Pete! Love the ones with the fall colors and the clouds. And great photos of the goats! Thanks for sharing the park with the rest of us that can't be there this time of the year!

Nice shots Pete. I hope you get them framed and on the expansive walls of your place.

Thanks Jason.
I love the clouds too. The weather and topography out here in Montana make for great clouds.
Fall colors here are ok here, but my old stomping grounds in western Virginia are hard to beat for fall color.
"Fall", bowhunting, and surf fishing are a few things I miss about living back east.

I tried some night photography Wednesday night. The full moon rose at 7:07PM.
Low clouds delayed seeing it until about 8PM out .
Long story short....I know zip point s***about night photography 8)
The best picture I got was with my phone!!! LOL And it's lousy.

Funny you should mention framing.
I went to Michael's craft place yesterday looking for some simple frames to display my pics. :)
They had these simple black frames on sale for 1/2 price.
I bought frames for 11/14 and 8x10.
I might display the goats at one of the joints I work for...along side the football pools 8)
Plenty of space and people have to pass by on the way to the restrooms!

Everyone I know "says" my pics are wonderful, etc. etc.
The trouble is I'm always afraid people are telling me "what I want to hear" and maybe not being objective or honest.
I guess I'll just have to suck it up and put the pics out there and see what happens.
Be nice to have some extra money to help pay for my photo habit. Cost me $50.00 just to drive to the East side and back :(

I snapped this a few minutes ago.
I really liked this one of Mr Lincoln; everyone seemed to like this one best.

Pete, those are great pictures of the goat. You should be careful posting so many great shots of him, he might become the "center of attention". :D

Mr Lincoln ought to be the center of attention.

I went it out to Lake McDonald Saturday afternoon since Sunday and Monday look kind of yucky weatherwise.
Working this afternoon so I was probably an hour late for the best clouds. Most had dissipated by the time I arrived. :(
There was just enough wind to ruin decent reflections as well. Bummer...

Was getting dark when I was down where Snyder Creek flows into the lake.
Clouds at different distances and heights were lighted differently. I didn't notice that teeny little cloud way over on the right lit up orange(ish) :)

That was a worthwhile trip. Great photos, Pete! All three are frameworthy.
