I like the first one also. I think I like just the hint of color in it. I really like the one in the other group of photos of the leaf at Lake McDonald. It just looked so peaceful to me. Really I think they are all very nice. Keep posting so we can see what we're missing.
Thanks Barb
That was actually the first image I took at that location. It took a while to get the tripod set right.
The rock along there is quite smooth and some was ice covered and/or wet...and that tripod has rubber feet.
Lilbit sketchy since I was right on the edge of the creek because I wanted the rock as close to the camera as possible--maybe 18" here.
This image is
focus stacked, one exposure for the rock in front of the camera, and one exposure for the slabs on the far side of the creek.
Both were 1/8 second at f11.
Later, up where I made the creek shots, I talked to a biker headed for Bird Woman Overlook. He'd been to the Big Bend a few days earlier.
He and I were talking about how "peaceful" it is now that the hordes of tourists have pretty much gone home.
He was a hard core biker from Kalispell. Well traveled bike and gear. Bike had some cool looking mitten type things mounted on the handle bars.
Room for heavy gloved hands as well as chemical warmers and snacks. I wish I had the stamina for biking like that.
Here is a sunrise pano made at 7:17AM, about 6 minutes before official sunrise.
Nothing dramatic, but it
was peaceful. Nobody there but me.
Mist on lake surface was nice.
Should print ok since the softer pastel colors tend to print better than they appear on a monitor.
