Northern Highline Status

Post by sj in cal »

Anyone taken the Northern Highline this summer? The trail status report was updated today (7/17/08) to indicate the Ahern Drift is scheduled to be blasted August 5, which just happens to be the day Hockey Ref and I are hiking Granite Park to Fifty Mountain.

SJ,

We just got back from our trip and we hiked the first part of the Highline until about Haystack Butte. It had just opened. We stopped at the pretty significant snowfields but some were going over. Our biggest battle were the goats on the rimrock part of the trail! We had a great trip, did lots of hikes, but not backpacking, just long day hikes. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Sometimes those goats just won't get off the trail. Hope you enjoyed your trip...any photos?
