I need to make some corrections and additions, including pictures to my "review" above.
The bed shown is a KING size, not Queen as I said above
The room did have a balcony.
Keep in mind that while some of this may seem "trivial", the rooms at the Firebrand are expensive.
So in OUR opinion this stuff shouldn't happen.
The room keys are the new "scanning" type, not the credit card you drop in a slot---and they are a pain to use.
That and Vickie and Bobby had to have there cards replaced mid stay. The idiot at the desk kept asking stupid questions like, did they check out? extend stay.
It's like it was somehow "their fault".
NO information in the room as to what services the hotel offers--like the room cards/booklets, etc.
Vics body wash pump body wash didn't work and while not a big deal, took 2 days to get the maid(who's English sucked) to replace it.
The room door weighs a TON. The hydraulic door closer is soooo STIFF even I had to really lean on it to open the door.
I can see where people who are old and not too strong will have a hell of a time with that door.
I've hung doors and installed door closers. There is NO NEED for a door closer like that on a hotel door.
A correctly "hung" door, regardless of how heavy it is, does not need a hydraulic closer that "stiff".
The Firebrand is well located in town. Very convenient for travelers without transport and has some nice amenities.
However, for the price one pays for a "small" room, one should not have to put up with these sort of petty annoyances.
FWIW
pete
small room imo for price
King Bed
Balcony
Hope you don't want to take a "bath". Shower only.
The usual "overpriced" crap all hotels seem to have now
I'm sure some parents of younger children will be delighted to see a "Couples Kit" offered for just $4.00. I mean really? Condoms?
Hell, I guess I am old
