Saw in my morning paper that powdered alcohol has been approved. Now that will cut pack weight!

We will see about the taste! But we are excited as well. Our state government is still deciding what to do about it.

This may be one of the America's most stupid ideas yet.
Yeah, I can see where it will be a fun idea for backpackers and hikers.
That said, don't any of you Palcohol supporters whine when your kids and grandkids "OD" on this crap.
Because all of you know full well that the teens and "tweens" will be finding ways to get this stuff and abuse it in some fashion.
Look at all the ways they abuse liquid alcohol right now!
However, this is America and I am a libertarian. People have the right to make dumb decisions, including using this nonsense drink.
The bright side is maybe abuse of this stuff will clean up the gene pool. 8)

well the good news is that this stuff will be hard to snort (it will be painful due to the alcohol and apparently take like an hour for a normal person to snort enough to get drunk!)

Actually for those who will be selling it, it is quite a smart idea, it is new and for a while it will be popular, but I don't believe it will be much more than one of those passing things. That said, yes it has been approved, but the key is, how many stores are going to sell it and how is each state going to handled the distribution and sales of it, most of the stores around here, have said, they are not interested in carrying it. Once the novelty of it wears off, I think about the only place you will see it showing up is backpackers, and such. I just don't see it making much of a splash in the long run.
