Thanks for posting your trip report. It's nice to see and here about the park even though I haven't been there in years. The number of visitors in September kind of makes me wonder what kind of future the park will have.

I really enjoyed reading your trip report. I think we'll wait until the road work on the East side opens before we return. I've always wanted to get a stay at Sperry, but never have. It sounds fantastic!

Go as early as you can Sean. It won't be as hot. The first couple miles are some of the steepest and there isn't a lot to see until you get into the open burn area.
