I agree with teapot, thank you Dave for mailing the trash! This all makes me not only angry, but sad. Sad that others don't appreciate what a great gift the parks are and abide by rules while visiting. We are the guests and lucky to have access to these great areas. I hate to say it, but I think it ...
Pete, you are certainly right. One year we were stopped in traffic along the Sun Rd. when the guy behind us just threw trash out the window. I jumped out of the car as did the fellow behind him. When we approached him, he said "sorry I didn't mean to". Really? You rolled the window down an...
I figured they might have went to this format because they couldn't find enough workers. When we were there they had two workers, one at the cash register and the one delivering the food. A lot of the tables had the numbers from patrons that had already left so no one knew which tables were open.
I am interested in the Divide Lookout. We were going to hike to that about five years ago. A ranger told us there was no real trail, mostly a bushwhack. She also said there was nothing left of the lookout. So maybe she wasn't really familiar with that area. Is the trail fairly obvious? Really just i...
Pete, Love your pictures, especially the ones with the lookout in the distance. When we hiked to Mt. Brown a few years back there was snow cover the last half mile or so, but just a few inches with a well worn path. Our legs were "rubbery" for a while too! We were passed by some young peop...
I was just looking at the park webcams and wondered if that was smoke or possibly a weather system moving thru. Pete, you answered my question. We moved our trip to late June this year due to fires the last two years during our fall trip. Hope this clears soon. Keep us posted Pete.
See Pete, all you have to do is threaten to stop posting and we all come to life. Now you realize how much everyone enjoys your posts. Isn't it great being the center of attention??
Oh come on Pete. Many of us lurk on here just to see your pictures! Really enjoy reading of others adventures even though I may not comment often. I'll try to do better! Will be there the end of June, so how's it looking for the road to open? Know it won't be before 6/22. We move from west to east 6...
Pete, Too bad you weren't feeling well. The webcams looked so good, I'm disappointed the camera weather looked better than it actually was. Enjoyed your pictures and hope you are feeling better. At least since the weather wasn't perfect, it makes heading home early a little easier. Seems like a lot ...
Teapot, Just a funny note about your take on the bear being on the road into Many Glacier. You took it totally different than I did. I thought they meant there was a bear on the road on the way in and the road wasn't closed, so why was the trail closed because of a bear! I guess either way, it is st...
