Nice photos and report. We were at Carlsbad years ago but didn't venture onto Guadalupe. Now I wish we had. Thanks for posting.

Looking at the webcams this morning, it seems the snow storm may happen. Hope any hikers have made it in to a safe place.

Re: Flying into FCA for GNP need2buy MSR IsoPro for stove

Re: Bad Visitor Behavior at GNP

"I understand their position, and I don't blame the rangers personally. However, I feel it's just another cop out on the National Park Service's part. They're too afraid to be more assertive and aggressive at enforcing the law and regulations. They don't want to "offend" the visitors...

Re: New West Glacier cell tower

I know this thread started about the visual impact of the cell tower, but to me the real impact of the tower is how it affects the national park experience. While the tower may or may not be unsightly, people walking around constantly talking on phones or checking facebook, has a much bigger impact,...

Re: New West Glacier cell tower

Pete, I think you misunderstood me. I totally agree with your snarky view about the use of technology in the park. My point was, if you are so attached to these devices you don't need to be out trying to have a "wilderness experience". Not only does it take away from their experience, it t...

Re: New West Glacier cell tower

Picture this: Lil Johnny and Susie, ear buds in place, ditty boppin' down the Highline listening to some iTunes crap. Meanwhile Dad's checking his IRA app as Mom talks to the dog sitter back home making sure Fido is still barkin'. All of them oblivious to the grizzly bear sow and her yearling cubs ...
