Re: What's September like?

First, I've gotta say how glad I am that this forum is still here! I wasn't able to log on for quite a few days several months ago so I thought the forum had died. I'm glad I tried it one more time. Now I'll have to catch up on Pete's photos!👍👍😎 I'm thinking about planning a trip for September 2022...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Craig, Cindy, Zozeppelin, Ron and Tammy!! Special THANKS to Cindy whom I have neglected recently! Sorry Cindy. Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm a little behind in answering posts. Work has gone crazy. Like most of the country, we simply cannot find and keep good employees. Yesterday I had to ge...

Re: Logan Parking Lot Filling

Thanks Tammy! The Visitor Center is only allowing a limited number of people at a time inside. There's usually a line of 20-30 people waiting to get in---at least when I was around. Social distancing is a JOKE, but that's a topic for another time and place. And yeah, it's no joke about getting to Lo...

Welcome to the 2020's "stagflation"...like the 70's version, only on steroids.

Still smoky around Kalispell.
Really windy here which is NOT GOOD with the fires popping up around NW Montana. :(

Here is the video from Saturday July 10th. No news here for those who have done the False Summit of the Dragon's Tail. 8) However these video might be helpful wondering if it's too risky, or beyond their ability. Have fun but take care out there. pete  Part 1 Up the boardwalk 8:45mins https://...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Hey Thanks Jay! :) It was pretty nice here too until yesterday when it went bad very quickly. I took all this video with an old phone I had for videos. The calendar and clock are way off. This video was taken around 0930 Saturday morning. 4-5 hours later the smoke had engulfed the park. The atmosphe...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

I went out again this morning. Up at 0300, left home at 0400. My arrival time at Logan Pass was exactly the same as Thursday's time-----0533. Not as many cars there as Thursday in spite of it being a Saturday and a gorgeous day. The lot was pretty much full by 0630. I believe I got some good photos ...

Re: 2021 Season Opening News

I may have jumped the gun on Logan Pass parking. Yesterday July 7th I arrived at Logan Pass at 0533. The parking lot was between 1/3 and 1/2 full already! I still managed to get the Number 1 spot  The rain was HAMMERING down driving up between the Loop and the Big Bend. NOT Fun. I waited unti...

Re: Surprised this hasn't caught on

But, the food wasn’t in her tent at the time of the attack. Sad. Jay However, the smell of the food remained in the tent. That would be especially true if she had been cooking in her tent. And I bet she had cooked in her tent, if not in that location, then somewhere else. It's very difficult to get...

Re: how can they do this?

Crazy .... They should at a minimum provide lodging elsewhere and refund you the money. It's one thing losing your perfect hotel reservation a couple weeks before the date, but completely another with the current hotel availability and pricing. How many personnel are we talking here? A couple house...

Re: Eastside Restaurants

I ate breakfast at Johnson's the day after they opened. It was very good. Two eggs scrambled perfectly(for me) 4 big strips of bacon cooked the way I like it(Done but not burned to a hard crisp) Hash browns, toast, and coffee. $13.00 if I remember. I don't go to the Park Café anymore. It was awful w...

Re: Bowman Lake Parking

We'll see what others here say about my suggestion... I would think about picking up your permit the afternoon of the day before your trip begins.(No later than 4:30PM) You should be able to do that at either the Polebridge Station or the Apgar BC Office. Verify the pickup hours at the Polebridge Ra...
