Thanks! That was the only bear we saw the whole week. The cabin was at Johnson's campground.

Part 1. I'd been jonesing to get back to Glacier since my first visit two years ago. I hit the lottery in April and got a great backcountry permit (5 days - Chief Mtn. to Goat Haunt). In some kind of cosmic miracle, I got my husband and my two 20-something kids on board, as well. I got us all flight...

I just spoke with a Ranger at the Apgar office. He thought there was a 50/50 chance that KOO would re-open sometime before Monday. He also said that the campsite availability web pages are down because of a power outage in a Denver location. He thought that would be fixed today.

Pete - Thanks for the encouragement. As long as the fire doesn't grow, we'll still have a hike, just not the thru hike we prefer. I hate backtracking.
