Two people on the facebook page responded that those campsites are open again. One of them was at a North Fork meeting on the 19th at which they said they were opening it. [edit: The other responder says she called the NPS, which said yes.]

Great question. I have a permit up there, too. I posted your question (w/out your name) on the Facebook page for GNP hiking and backpacking, which has a lot of participation from people who are currently in the park. I'll let you know if I get an answer.

I just canceled rooms at Rising Sun Motel for 9/5, 9/6, and 9/7. They are 3 different rooms, unfortunately, so if you book them, you will need to move each day.
