If you catch the boat at the beginning of the hike you won't be hurrying to catch the last boat back as you would if go the other way

It's a long hike that can be shortened by taking the boat and saving a few miles. I think it is among if not the best views in the park. It can be backpacked if you want to stretch it out, but I don't suggest backtracking.

I thought the "down the valley" part was nice too. I really enjoyed the hike and highly recommend it.
