Getting psyched for exploring the west side! Have spent the last 2 summers hiking in the No. Cascades, where you also have to work harder for your views, so know what you mean. Feel lucky to have an entire extra week to discover these new trails , AND the Polebridge dining spots! Is Bowman swimmable...

just did this hike the end of june and although i had done it three years ago without a problem , we managed to get somewhat lost on the reservation and had to back track. trail is clear until you sort of level out and run into jeep tracks - DON"T follow the tracks BUT stay on the trail that ve...

Thanks for your response. WIll plan to do Huckleberry and Numa. Never heard of CYclone and HOrnet Peak. Have heard about the pastries at Polebridge Mercantile but Northern Lights Saloon a new name to me - where is that? My husband and I will be in the park for 2 weeks , starting the 22nd, so anyone ...

Having spent several years hiking east side of the park, we are heading out for 2 weeks and now have time to venture into the other parts of Glacier. The white hare in Glacier

My mom remembers a park ranger saying that the white hare's (in Glacier) fur changes to white in late fall. Since the snow is falling later in recent years, this is harmful to the hare as predators can now easily spot them before it snows. Is this correct?? Important to hear back asap- want to use i...

Thank you for the link to the article. Have continued to think about this after initially reading the post, Seems like this is one of those situations where there is no good choice. My heart goes out to the cubs who may be going to the Bronx Zoo - wonder how they manage to adapt to that environment ...

Same weather warning had been issued for Beartooth Mts. Picking up daughter Eliz.on tuesday and will find out then what materialized down there.

Wow, that makes me feel really sad. Thought I've read in the past that aggressive bears usaully are relocated to more remote parts of the state?
Curious as to how often this has been necessary .
