Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Sorry to hear you’re leaving Montana. I appreciate all the time ( and $$$$) you have spent educating and entertaining us. I also understand that at our age we need to be around family if possible. The first thing I see when I come into my house is the photo I got from you. Wonderful!! Hope we get to...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Be careful out there Pete. A friend of mine and I were taking a hike a couple of days ago and she tripped on a thumb sized root and fell really hard on her shoulder. Very sore but no long term injury. "We" are all about the same age and have to be careful. On a positive note, thanks so muc...

Re: Bike ride to Logan Pass & climbing Reynolds at sunset

I watched the same video(same poster anyhow) only they rode to the Loop and hiked/ran to Granite Park Chalet first. Then back to Avalanche and road to Logan Pass and climbed Reynolds late afternoon. I just saw the video yesterday. These guys are tougher than cooked owls.

Driving a red bus one rainy day several years ago and had to stop just east of the tunnel with rocks falling. Scary situation.

Pete,
Nice picture of bluebells. They are one of the first wildflowers to show up here in Illinois, generally mid April. One of my favorites.

Pete, Always enjoy your pictures and appreciate your dedication to this site. The avalanche was amazing and the grizzly looked a bit closer than I would like.

Re: evacuation question

Lyman, I worked 2008,09,and 11 driving a red bus. I imagine 3/4 of the drivers were over 50. Getting a CDL is more difficult than it once was although the company trains CDL drivers. (It is better to get a CDL in your home state.) The traditional college kids (males) who were drivers seem less incli...

Re: evacuation question

GPI sent people to countries just for recruiting. Not sure if it is some type of exchange program. Nice bunch of young people. Practicing speaking English was always important to most and also learning American customs. One young lady from Turkey put salads out for breakfast. Apparently, salads were...

Thanks for the replies. The international employees sometimes had post season plans to travel in the States. This closure may have complicated those plans!

evacuation question

Lake McDonald facility has 220 employees. Where would they house that many employees had the site not been closed? I don't think the other sites have that much unoccupied employee housing.

I did meet you in the store last summer. You were wore out. I didn't take offense as I know that feeling. Thanks for posting all the pictures and videos. Hope to cross paths with you again.
