I use one pole when backpacking, but mainly because it's also my tent pole (MLD duomid). I tried 2 poles once, and didn't like that at all; 2 poles really slowed me down, especially on the downhills. I also think that training with a pole noticeably decreases my speed, agility & balance, so I te...

My latest new piece of gear? Hmmm...well, I bought a new polycro groundsheet from gossamer gear a while back. And, although not exactly new, I sent my MLD duomid in for a zipper replacement. Can't give up my 'mid, we've seen lots of adventures together and it's still going strong after 6+ years. Har...
