Re: A Week with Dad

So, I guess it's time for "dad" to chime in. The trip was a great time. It was my first time in Glacier, but not my first time in the Rockies/Northwest as I grew up in central Washington state. But that said the scenery and views were repeatedly incredible beyond expectation. For the firs...

Re: An Epic & Bearish Traverse

The day of the eclipse, my dad and I were heading from Fifty to Granite. We hiked up to the Helen lake overlook at Ahern pass just after the eclipse. We were wondering if you and Laura were still there that morning enjoying the view as well, but it seems you were already back at ELF. Also that morn...

Re: So what new piece of gear have you purchased lately?

On a different note, I recently became a product tester for REI. They sent me their Igneo 17 sleeping bag. Best part is I get to keep the gear. How do you get that job????? Where can I signup? :-) :-) I joked with Jen that it must have been a slow email day because I read an email from REI ...

Re: So what new piece of gear have you purchased lately?

I don't know if this qualifies as new gear, but last year we were introduced to a product called deFUNKit. We all have those synthetic fabric shirts that even being diligent in washing, after 5 minutes of wearing it, it starts to smell. This stuff really works. Originally bought it on Amazon for $20...

Their itinerary is freaking near perfect! Should make for a fantastic trip report. Just goes to show that you can get zilch in the permit lottery and still walkup and get most peoples dream route! 8) It was a dream route just not a dream trip. You all will have to wait for the trip report for the d...

We have a permit for REY > ELL > Chalet. He said the only way we were getting to Lake Ellen Wilson was from from the west. Gunsight campground may re-open but it would have to be accessed from the west also.
