So sorry to hear of your truck issues. I really liked your Shangri La description and now not so unhappy about not being able to do that this year with you. No sense in having 2 weenies on a hike like that anyway

Been watching the rental car availability at FCA. Today Thrifty has rental cars for the first week of August. I assume they must have imported them from Hawaii as total price for a week for a subcompact car is $2089. Isn't this price gouging ?

The Chalet web site says:
The shuttle system may allow drop offs at out of service shuttle stops. Ask at the visitor center and speak to your driver about being dropped off at The Loop or Jackson Glacier. You can disembark there, but no shuttle will pick you up at these locations.

The park website says they prefer I enter on my first day of my 7 day entry ticket but its not mandatory. However Recreation.gov site says You must enter on the first day of your 7 day ticket. Anyone know which is right?

Pete I like the snow on Bearhat and was wowed by the detail of the trail to dragons tail but for some reason I was most thrilled by the Clements pano. I know the season is fast coming to a close but keep posting as long as you can, or I should say safely can. Looking forward to seeing you in August....
