Re: Close Encounters of the Wildlife Kind

Hey Jay, Liked your TR. Read it start to finish and that's saying something for a guy whose attention span has dwindled over the years to something akin to a gnat. You are a gifted writer. Happy to see you made the most out of your trip and completed most of your hiking goals. Favorite line Le...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Not that the bright part is too bad, but I've found that the dodge tool just can't save blown out areas well. If you're clever with the cloning tool I suggest dragging some of the exiting clouds and sky nearby into the blown out area. I've had some luck doing it on a few of my images. Hoping things ...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Yup, to clear this up to anyone reading this. Pete is a fun and knowledgeable hiking partner who I consider a friend. He is not a guide in any legal sense of the word. Sorry about my poor choice of words. Wow, that was a fun day we did the hike. I think we had about the same weather you had the othe...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

Pete, Your videos captured the the A to Z of the Dragons Tail Hike. Well done, friend! It made me long to get back out there. As a footnote to those who viewed it, I have did this hike with Pete. I was a little worried about height and exposure, but like Pete said just take your time and watch what ...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

I hear you, Pete and Jay. Normal year going to Glacier for me went something like this. Hey, you want to go to Glacier? A couple of weeks later we packed up and left. I'm not a big planner for such things by nature. I also loved the road trip out to the park almost as much as being there. Usually &q...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

What was the model Nikon you got last year was it? I bought a Canon 80D with a 18-135 lens about Thanksgiving time 2019. Before that I had an 8mp Canon XT purchased about 2005. Even though the 80D has been around a few years, I got the camera/lens for a pretty decent price and upgraded to 24mp, whi...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

I like Adam Gibb too. Two words that I think describe him are honest and unpretentious. I still watch Gavin Hardcastle, but lately I fear his videos may have 'jumped the shark'. Mark Denney is pretty good. Did you see the video breaking down his photography income for the last year? YouTube is by fa...

Re: 2020 "Snaps" Around Glacier National Park

No good reason Carol. Lazy I guess and a bit frustrated with this chat and the lack of participation. While I'm certainly grateful for the members who support me here, it's possible I may find another venue for posting photos. What that might be I have no clue at the moment. Bummer I know, but it i...
