Did this hike today with no problems. Took a hiking pole and never used it to cross the few remaining snow areas. It was a beautiful day and really great hike.

I bet it was a cool ride down the mountain. Last night I was wondering e.g. if you hiked up to Granite Park, would you have the whole place to yourself. I assume so, and I guess I assume they you probably didn't see more than one (or two) other groups on your way to and from the Loop. Jay I saw one...

I was really glad that the road was reopened a couple of weeks ago so I took the opportunity to take a bike ride up the road from Avalanche on this nice Friday afternoon. There were a few areas of smoke near Avalanche and Lake McDonald Lodge, but otherwise, no evidence of the fire. I got started aro...

Great video Pete. We were in Many Glacier on Saturday too. Did ShangriLa. We were also in the parking lot at Swiftcurrent watching the Bears. Can't believe I didn't see you.

I took a bicycle ride up to Logan Pass today. The road was clear all the way up but missing several sections of guard rail. (Which is pretty scary looking over the edge). Also saw some road crew and asked for a prediction - they said they are trying hard for the 4th.

I had lunch there on Sunday. Two Sisters wasn't open for lunch so we decided to try the new Park Cafe. I could tell it's still a work in progress. The menu is small and resembles some of what used to be on the old one. I had the "T-Bird" formerly the Tasty Turkey. It was good. The Wife had...

I was on the Highline that day. Had a hiker headed back toward Logan tell me about the bear and some guy who had fired off a shot at it. Later saw the bear way up on the slopes before Haystack. Didn't see the idiot.

Yesterday the 13th was beautiful. Today not so much. Cloudy and rainy with low visibility at the pass. Right now raining at Many Glacier while I use the new Wifi here in the lounge.

Swftcurrent pass is good to go. Me, Mrs. shadowdan, and my two kids (13,8) made it over and back to the Chalet with no problems on Friday the 13th and Sat 14th.

Just booked a stay on July 13 for 4 at Granite Park. Sweet. Major trip upgrade.
